15 Beautiful Colors for Your Sections
Sitemap Editor automatically assigns colors to top-level sections of your sitemap, making it easy to visually distinguish different areas of your website. Each main section gets its own color, and all child pages inherit the color of their parent section. This creates a clear visual hierarchy that helps you understand your site structure at a glance.
The color palette has been carefully selected to be visually distinct while remaining harmonious. Colors work well in both light and dark themes, ensuring your sitemap looks great regardless of your theme preference. The vibrant yet balanced tones help you quickly identify sections without overwhelming the visual design.
💡 Pro tip: When you drag a node to a new parent section, it automatically inherits the new parent's color. This keeps your color organization consistent as you restructure your sitemap.
Automatic Color Assignment
Colors are assigned automatically as you create new top-level sections. The Home node always gets the primary purple color, and each new section you add gets the next color in the rotation. You don't need to manually assign colors — the system handles it all, ensuring every section is visually distinct without any extra effort on your part.
The color rotation cycles through all 15 colors before repeating. For most websites, this means every major section will have its own unique color. Even for very large sites with many sections, the colors are distinct enough that you can easily tell sections apart based on their hue.
Color Indicators Everywhere
Section colors appear throughout the interface for consistent visual feedback. In the tree view, each node has a small colored dot indicating its section. On the canvas, node cards have a colored left border. In the properties panel, you can see the section color for the selected node. This consistency helps you always know which section you're working with.
The connector lines on the canvas also reflect the color of the parent node they connect to, creating a clear visual flow from parent to child. This makes it easy to trace relationships in your sitemap and understand how different pages are connected.
