Hierarchical Tree View

Navigate complex structures with ease

A Clear Overview of Your Site Structure

The Hierarchical Tree View in the left sidebar provides a clear, organized view of your entire sitemap structure. Each page is represented as a tree node with indentation showing its level in the hierarchy. This familiar interface pattern, similar to file explorers and project trees, makes it intuitive to understand and navigate even the most complex website structures.

The tree view is fully synchronized with the canvas. When you select a node in the tree, it's automatically highlighted on the canvas. When you add, rename, or delete pages, both views update instantly. This dual-view approach gives you the best of both worlds: the structural clarity of a hierarchical list and the visual context of a canvas layout.

💡 Pro tip: Double-click any node in the tree view to quickly rename it. The change is immediately reflected both in the tree and on the canvas.

Expand and Collapse Branches

Large sitemaps can become overwhelming to navigate. The tree view solves this with expand/collapse functionality for every branch. Click the arrow icon next to any parent node to collapse its children, reducing visual clutter and letting you focus on the sections you're currently working on. Click again to expand and reveal the child pages.

For quick navigation across your entire sitemap, use the "Expand All" and "Collapse All" buttons in the toolbar. Collapsing all branches is particularly useful when you want to see just the top-level structure of your site, while expanding all gives you the complete picture. The canvas automatically adjusts to show or hide nodes based on the collapse state, keeping both views perfectly synchronized.

Unlimited Nesting Depth

Sitemap Editor supports unlimited nesting depth, so you can create deep hierarchies for complex sites. Each level is clearly indicated through indentation in the tree view and visual positioning on the canvas. Color-coded dots next to each node show which section it belongs to, making it easy to identify different areas of your site at a glance.

The resizable sidebar panel gives you control over how much space the tree view occupies. Drag the right edge of the panel to make it wider for long page titles, or narrower to give more room to the canvas. You can even hide the sidebar completely by clicking the panel header, and bring it back with the floating "Sitemap" button that appears.
